Important things and stuff.

There are many things in my life that I could consider important. Whether the things be just a little bit important or something that means the most in my life. I have things and people in my life that have been here for a long time and I still consider of a lot of importance. The two things that I can think of off of the top of my head right now are my family/friends and my health/well-being. My family and my friends have always been the most important to me. If there was anything that I truly cared about, it was them. My parents have always and will always be there for me, no matter what the situation is or how much trouble I get myself into. I would definitely not be where I am today if it was not for them. My mother has always given me money, rides, advice, and help with whatever it is that I have needed help with. It has also helped that she has been on the Board Of Education the whole time that I have been in the high school. My father has always been there for me and always helped me in whatever sport I participated in, whether it was little league or high school. My parents have shaped the person that I am today and I would not trade them for the world. That is why it is easy to say that my family is at the top of the list for what and who is important in my life. The next thing of importance in my life is definitely myself. Not just me being selfish, but I truly care about my body, my health, and my own life a lot. For all of my life, I have been athletic and always worked out daily, whether it be running or lifting weights. I care about how my body looks and I think everyone should strive to have a nice body, or at least lose weight. No matter how hard I try, I cannot gain or lose weight. My metabolism is so damn high. I think that I will always be running and working out for the rest of my life. It keeps me healthy and fit. I will always try to keep myself as healthy as I can possibly me. I worry the most about myself because it is hard to trust a lot of people nowadays. The best thing you can possibly do is worry about yourself and how you are going to get where you want to go.
These things are all the most important to me because I care about them all the most. My family and my health will always be the most important things in my life, whether it be now or 20 years from now. They will still hold the same spot in my heart, no matter what happens or no matter where I go. I think a lot of people think the same things are important. In anyone's life, there is no love like family love. It is just different.

Courage

Courage can be found anywhere in any situation that you are involved in. It does not have to be something outrageously courageous where it is ultimately scary or nerve racking. I believe that doing anything outside of your comfort zone is an act of courage. It could be something very simple or it could be something that will get your adrenaline pumping very fast. I have always found myself to be a courageous person when it comes to taking any sort of risks. I looked up the definition of courage on the internet and what I found surprised me somewhat. The definition read "the ability to do something that frightens one". I found this surprising because I do not think that it is just frightening tasks that require courage when it comes to performing. I could say that it took me some courage to write this blog for you. There are people who do not find themselves to be quite the courageous person, so simple things can be considered courageous for them. If you look at the statistics, driving a car is one of the most dangerous and courageous things a person could do. There are so many people that are afraid to drive a vehicle just because of how many people get critically or fatally injured from doing so.
There are way too many things to sit here and named that I have done that I could consider courageous. All of the sports and activities that I have participated in are considering courageous things. I would have to say that playing football for 10 years has been the most courageous thing I have done. Either that or skateboarding for a long time and leaping down sets of stairs and rails. From each, I have broken bones and bled a lot of blood just because I love the adrenaline and love the game. There are some people who are born with courage and some who might have to develop it over a period of time throughout their lives. I would take some hard hits as a wide receiver playing football, but I kept doing it anyway because I would not let any type of fear stop me from playing the game that I love. Everyone in my life that I know is courageous in one way or another, but I would have to say that I am the most courageous person I know. When I used to skateboard, I used to toss myself down sets of 10 stairs and land on my feet as hard as possible. I would roll ankles and break fingers, but after that I would still keep on doing it. I used to cut my casts off just so that I could participate in pop warner football. It is the drive and the will of a person that keeps them going and keeps them being courageous. I like to think that if you are not being courageous, then you probably are not living your life to the fullest.

Basketball

I used to play basketball when I was a little guy in elementary school, but stopped when I got into middle school. I never knew the reason for the ending of my basketball career. I wish I never stopped and kept working at it into middle school then sure enough, into high school. I don't think that I would have been a star or all-star caliber player, but I would have had a good impact on the team. Football was always my primary sport when high school rolled around for me. I got sucked into doing winter track by Mr. Jordan, just as all of the other freshmen football players did. I am not mad that I ended up doing track 4 years in a row, but looking back, it would have been cool to try something new out. I still play basketball a lot, even though I never participated in any school or league for it. My friends and I play almost every other day and it is one of the funnest things I do nowadays. I usually text or call Dan and then we start texting people to get a game going at Veterans park. Sometimes we take it serious when we play and sometimes we joke around a lot and the games don't last too long. We are not bad at all when we play serious, some of us could have actually played on the high school varsity team if we signed up for it. Today, we were playing at 5 'o clock, a little game of 2 on 2. Dan went to the hoop for a layup and Cody came out of no where and swatted it into the parking lot. We all went crazy because it was a legitimate block and Dan was a little embarrassed. He came up with a bunch of excuses as to why it happened, but we all just kept laughing and pointing at him. He then went on to say how he was going to take it serious now and go hard, but his team still lost by a large margin. We will continue to play for years to come and play at the same spot probably. Since Dan, Cody, and I are going to OCC, I am sure that we will be playing a lot more together when everyone goes away to college. Basketball is a hobby to me. I could say that it keeps me in shape, but it is a minor hobby to the other athletic activities that I do and how much running I do. It is the best when we get a game of 5 on 5 going because it gets pretty serious. Some of our games get quite physical, but it is just because we are all athletes and get competitive very easily. Gym class basketball is fun too. Sometimes Mr. Scran plays and we tear him up all period. He is good for his age, I must admit. We play at night at the local elementary school which is fun too because they have tether ball there. I hope that basketball never leaves me life, whether it is watching it or playing it.

The Young Me

Out of all the things I could say to a younger me, I would definitely greet the past me by telling him to keep on doing what he is doing. Over the past few years, I feel like I have done quite well in decision making and life choices. I have never gotten mixed in with the wrong crowd or anything like that. I have been able to stay out of trouble in school and maintain pretty decent grades. For all 4 years of high school, I have been a 3-sport athlete and varsity in all of them. I would definitely fill my younger self in on getting a job early and keeping it. My experiences throughout high school would have been much better if I had money of my own to spend on whatever I wanted. The issue was always that I never had enough time to work a job and participate in school and sports after school. The price of being a high school athlete breaks your pockets, but it has been well worth it. I saw kids who used to play sports but they would stop playing to work a job. I always loved the sports that I played too much to ever stop just for a job.
I would inform the younger me that he should try and focus more on his school work. I cannot stress it enough that everything from freshmen year will come back to haunt someone. I have always done just enough work to pass or just enough work to make myself feel content with a grade. I never really made it a big priority in my life to be an exceptional student. I have always been in the middle of the pack and did what the teacher told me to do. It would definitely be at the top of my list to tell the younger me to not slack off in any classes.
I might tell myself to try and play basketball instead of winter track, but I would still be unsure. I have always enjoyed the sport of basketball, but winter track has always been something that I have done. I am really into training and lifting so that I could be the best athlete for football that I could possibly be. I would tell myself to keep on doing football and to get involved as possible as I can with that. I might let my younger self know that I should join a few clubs for a better resume, but none of that stuff has really affected me. I would tell my younger self to stay single throughout my high school career because having a girlfriend is a waste of time during high school. All they do is cause drama between you and your friends and cause more stress. The last thing a high school kid should have to deal with is more stress. Just live freely and do not get tied down by a girl. Other than those few things, I think I am doing pretty good so far.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is found in a lot of people, but not every single person out there. For some people, forgiving is the hardest thing they can ever attempt. Forgiveness to me is a vital thing for a person to possess. It is obvious that there is nobody out there that is perfect; everyone in your life is going to disappoint you and/or make mistakes. It is very important to be able to forgive the people in your life for messing up, just like any other human being does. If you can never forgive someone, then you will end up holding grudges for the remainder of your life. Each person should be forgiven once for a mistake. But if you keep on committing the same mistake, forgiveness might not find its way back to you more than once. I think that if you are close with someone who preaches forgiveness, you should value that person and not take them for granted. There are people out there who will never forgive you for what you do. These uptight, narrow-minded people do not have much to live for or have any close friends. Being able to forgive is certainly a virtue in a great, working friendship. All of my life I have been someone that can easily forgive people for what they do. Even if someone does something pretty cruel, I have always been able to let it go and focus on the good stuff that is happening. It has the ability to hurt you in the long run though, as well. Some people are too nice and will end up forgiving people for everything and anything that they do wrong. When people start being too nice and too forgiving, that is when people start taking advantage of those types of people. It is a shame that there are so many people out there who take advantage of the nicest people that inhabit this country. Even when the nice people find out that they are being taken advantage of, they are still nice about it. There are people that I forgive, but I remember for the rest of my life not to trust them. My brother has done some pretty messed up things and I have forgiven him. We act cool and we're friends, but I know that I cannot trust him with a lot because I have learned my lesson. The thing is you have to be wise and forgiving. You have to know where to draw the line. There are obviously some instances where a person should never be forgiven. There are such instances like murder, rape, or abuse, those things should never be forgiven. Almost everything else should have a chance at being forgiven though. Under most people's circumstances, forgiveness is easy to come by. Forgiveness is most certainly wise and mature. Young children do not know much about forgiveness. But as you grow older, you learn to accept the inevitable and forgive people for things that they and you cannot control.

Wild Card

The weather has been on and off lately, warm then cold. It seems like Mother Nature cannot make up her mind as she goes back and forth between temperatures. Recently, there have been days where the temperature could reach as high as 85 degrees then a few days later it will be back down in the 50's. On this lovely, lazy Sunday, it consisted fully of straight rainfall. The entire day there has been rain pouring from the clouds above, soaking the streets and front lawns of all of us. I am one of those people who thoroughly enjoy when it rains. I do not just mean drizzle, I mean completely downpour. I love when it thunders and lightnings and you can just stay in and do whatever you want all day. I am not sure if that says something about me or what type of person I am. There are so many people who are scared of the lightning and thunder, which I do not see the reasoning behind. I think I am just a fan of bad weather, in general. Sometimes I wonder why it rains and how the whole rain process works. I am sure that I learned the process or why it happens somewhere throughout my life in a science class, but who knows. Whenever someone thinks of rain, they usually think of sad stuff or depression. Rain is known to be a depressing and dark thing. I never really looked at it that way. I always saw rain as an excuse to sit inside all day and get some work done. Even going outside in the rain is fun and can give someone something to do. I think sun-showers in the summer are some of the coolest things ever. The sun is out and shining, but there is raining coming down, which does not make much sense to anyone including me. Do not get me wrong, I enjoy the sun and hotness just as much as I enjoy the rain. Summer is definitely one of my favorite seasons, I think tied for first with winter. I love going to the beach and getting as tan as I possibly can. I love the whole atmosphere at the beach and in Seaside on the boardwalk. It is a laid-back feeling place where people go just to get away and have fun. I go out there with my friends and we just chill on the beach all day, maybe make a walk down the boardwalk. During the summer, you do not even have to wear shoes. You can spend your whole day in a bathing suit and you will be fine. The warm weather and the sunshine just seems to have a positive affect on everybody. It is sad that the summer only lasts a few months, unless you live down south in Florida. As much as I love the hot weather, I could not live in it all year round. I enjoy the change of weather and the snow and the coldness. It gives Christmas the right feeling that it deserves and should always have for everyone.

Unfinished Business

High School, overall, has been a good time for me. Senior year has been one of the most enjoyable years, but it has also brought a good amount of stress upon us seniors. The whole college process wore everyone out and made it easy for senioritis to make its way into all of our minds. I do not really think that I have any unfinished business. Once everyone finished the whole college process, everyone just wants the fun to start with prom and senior week. All of the fun stuff at the end of senior year is kind of like a reward for lasting the whole 4 years, which is a difficult task itself. There was never anything that I really set out to do for high school. I had fun all of these years and I made a lot of friends and I learned a good amount of things, which I truly came here for. You could say that I sort of floated through high school and just did what I had to do. That might be something that I would want to go back and change. I never really tried to be a great, high honor-roll student. I was always in the B's range and kind of did what I needed to get by. It was never a great mindset to have, but I still learned a lot and was a good student. There are some times where I wish that I did basketball or swimming instead of winter track. But in the end, right now, I am glad that I always did track and stuck with Mr. Jordan through it all. If I could change anything about this year, it would definitely be the outcome of the football season. We ended at 5-5 by losing the last 3 games. We really showed the whole county that Central could play football with anyone again, but ended on a low note with losing 3 straight. I would also change my participation in the college process and applying to about 8 different schools. In the end, I will be attending Ocean County College for 2 years then transferring out. It is the smartest decision for me to make, financially, and in the end it was actually what I wanted to do. My future is what I am really excited for. I will still be around here, attending OCC, but after that is what I am looking forward to. I want to transfer a music school or an art institute and major in audio recording because music is what I am really into. I am really looking forward to seeing what all my close friends do with their lives and the amount of success that they have. The end of high school should be the best and happiest parts though. Graduating is bittersweet but it is time to open up a new chapter to my life.

Rhymes, Rhymes, Rhymes

There are all of the other blogs that are typical questions and reasons for students to rant about their everyday lives. I am a firm believer that this blogger needs some sort of excitement and mixing up. In this blog entry, I want you to tell a story, whether it be made up or a true story of your past. I do not want some lame story to be told though. I want the whole blog entry to rhyme, no matter what the different rhyme schemes are, let it flow. It does not have to be like a poem or a rap verse, I do know that a lot of you are not modern day Shakespeare's. Tell a story with a rhyme like mine, never rush into it because it may take some time, no matter the end result, your grade will be fine.

I know your brain is probably crowded, but now, write about it.

Dying.

Death has been something that does not spend any time in my life. I have never experienced a close enough death for me to be upset about. I do not know if that sounds harsh, but it is certainly true. I have witnessed kids around the town die, but I was never friends with them; I think it is sad for the people who he or she were close with, but I had no business with that person. I acknowledge their death and then move on with my own life. No one in my family has ever died and I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing. I have been to wakes before and there were a lot of people crying and I just felt so awkward and out of place. It kept running through my mind that I did not even know the person who had died, I feel some sorrow for this person but not a lot. The reason for why we die has never been something I think about. It has always just been a part of life to me. I do not want to die, but I know one day I am going to. I have kind of believed that when we die we start a new life, we are just born again as different people. That concept has always seemed pretty cool to me, so that's what I'll go with. I do not think that death occurs to make room for more people on earth, but it definitely does not hurt that occurrence. After death, I guess we just start a new life. I am sort of skeptical about that theory though, so I am really unsure when it comes to what to believe in. That theory has been the closest I have come to finding something to believe in about life after death. It has been either that theory or just that nothing happens. The confusion that is among me is interesting though. I just really do not know what to think. I do not want some religious guy to try and preach to me about what happens because I'll end up thinking it is bullshit. I have never even pondered or tried to research the topic of death. I do not think I will care much about it until someone close to me dies. A lot of people go through dealing with the fear of death. I have never really been to scared of death for myself. I find myself more scared of someone close to me dying than myself. Maybe because if I die, I will not have to care or grieve because I will be dead. But if someone close to me dies, I will be depressed and break down. I would like to know if there are any scientists who have discovered what really happens after death, but I doubt any of the theories are what truly happens. People have supposedly died and come back, but they never see anything spectacular. It is usually just all white or something, which does not seem interesting to me.

Messy rooms or no?

My room has always been a place where I can get away from obnoxiousness or trouble. It also used to be a place where I ran to if I was sad. As time goes on I have noticed that I spend a lot less time in my room than I used to when I was a kid. The posters on my wall barely reflect my personality and who I am as a person. I have so many things on my wall from when I was in middle school and used to skateboard. I have a lot of stickers from skateboard companies and different clothing brands. My water bed is the best part of my room. It is unbelievably comfortable and definitely my favorite thing in my room. Thank god I have my room all to myself. When I was younger I shared a room and a bunk bed with my older brother. Living in a room with someone else can only last so long though. We each had conflicting ideas and it was only a matter of time before I got that room all to myself. My room is never ever dirty though. It amazes people sometimes, but it's true, my mom does all of my laundry and cleans my room for me. It has just always been that way and it will be that way till I go off to college. If my room is ever dirty, it is because I slept in too late and my mom is already out and about. When I go off to college, I plan to keep my dorm nice and tidy so that a mess is never an issue. As long as my room has a comfortable bed and a good television, I'll be good. I know a lot of people who have rooms that look like a earthquake hit it. My room will never be like that. It would be impossible for me to function if my room was always a disaster. I get irritated just when my bed is not made, if it is not made then I do not enjoy sleeping it as much as I should. I will not doubt that I will be this way for the rest my life either. There are a lot of people out there who take a lot of pride in the way their rooms look. I used to be one of those people that think a bed should not be made because it is just going to get slept in again later. As you grow older and mature, you realize how much more important it is to be organized and neat. I do not mean it has to be picture-perfect and everything has to be line, but you should not have to dig around to find simple things. I still have a belief that a room is a reflection of someone and who they are. Some people may deny it, but it has got to be true. There are people who are almost never in their rooms. These people are almost never home either and it is hard to believe that their home is really their home. A home should be treasured because there are people out there without homes.

Design a curriculum

If I could design a curriculum for high school students, it would be very enjoyable and at the same time education-based. I would definitely still assign English and mathematics because I believe these two to be the most essential in life. English teaches kids how to read and write. There is no way someone could even function in the world without knowing how to read. You have to be able to read for every single job there is in this world. If you cannot read, you're pretty much equivalent to a toddler, which is no help at all. The same goes for writing. Writing is essential in being successful in any country. I would include science as well even though I despise of the subject. There are too many possible jobs that are crucial for the generations to come to just let the subject go to waste. Of course, I would include physical education and health. Gym, because I believe that everybody needs to do this subject because everyone needs to stay in shape. If everyday someone is running and exercising, there will be weight lost and better looking bodies. It might sound kind of evil, but this is the opportunity for people to get fit and stay in shape. The health class would be good because I think that students need to learn about their own health. If the kids do not know what is going on with their bodies, they will be blind to diseases and sicknesses. The electives will be classes that are very diverse. I would let students take classes about making music. Music is a wonderful thing to get involved in and it is a wonderful way to let your emotions out. School would be 5 days a week just like it is for us. Homework would be very rare though. I have never really seen the point in assigning homework every night. I go to school to do the work and learn, so why are they making me do it while I am at home? Lunch would find its way in the schedule somewhere. I would assign a required study hall to every student, so that they could study whatever they are having trouble in or do homework. The students would never stay in the building all day long. They would only be required to attend six hours just like any other school. I think I would start it a little later though. I would have school start at 9 in the morning, it is not too early and not too late. I wake up at around 8 every morning even when I do not have school. I am never tired and always ready to go. My students would learn just as much as any other students and have fun at the same time. School should not be all about learning and discipline, although those two components should be about 70% of the focus. You want your students to learn valuable life lessons and have fun at the same time.

Wisdom

Wisdom is something that is lacking in this day and age. People get so focused on an education, which is not a bad thing in any way, shape, or form. I just believe that education can only get you so far. Wisdom is valuable and if you are wise, you will be successful in life. Wisdom is the knowledge through experience. The older population has the most wisdom because they have obviously been through the most out of anyone living. You cannot go to school to learn how to possess wisdom, it cannot be taught. If you go to college, you will not take a class on wisdom. You cannot test someone on wisdom, it is something that comes with experience. As you live through your life and experience problems and hardships, wisdom will come along as well. It may not be wisdom through a good time in life, it may be a tragedy, but you will still gain wisdom and learn from your mistakes. I think that if you are wise, then you can give extremely good and valuable advice. Parents are usually wise. This is why kids always go to their parents for advice, not just because they are their parents, because they have most likely been through the same problems. There are too many people growing up in this country that lack common knowledge or wisdom. I think that my parents are wise and my grandparents. No surprise there that they are all over 40 years old. You gain wisdom over the years of your life, the older you get: the more wisdom you have. I always go to them whenever I am in a rough patch or if I am doing good. They tell me what they would do in my shoes, and it is usually something good. They give me advice and think of what would be best for me and would better my life. I feel strongly that if you are wise, you are going to be older. I do not know any kids that are full of wisdom. They have not seen much of the world. Wisdom can come with traveling as well. You can see what other people's living situations are like. You would get to feel their everyday struggle. Once you see that there are definitely people out there who have it worse than you; you learn to not take so many things in your life for granted. Right there, you gain wisdom by realizing that you have it good. People in today's society should try to achieve a certain level of wisdom, it should be something to be striven for. I know that as I grow throughout my life, I will be very wise and make the best of any situation I am in. I have seen a lot of things that some people have not seen and it makes me even more wise. I know that what I have in life is wonderful and there are people who wish they were in my situation. I am grateful for everything in my life at the moment.

Job importance

All jobs have a certain amount of significance and importance. Every person in the world has a different opinion and perspective of jobs. There are too many people with too much pride to admit that their job does not signify a lot more than others. I think there are a lot of jobs that are way more important than other ones. There is a big amount of jobs that I think hold a great amount of significance, but are often held by people that can not handle the amount of pressure the jobs come with. I do not know how people determine the importance of most jobs, but it is something that is discussed every single day. I think doctors possess the most important jobs in the world. Without doctors, how would anyone be able to sustain their lives? There is no person living in the world that is perfectly healthy and never needs medical attention. Doctors are here to make sure that human beings can live the longest amount of life that they possibly can. There would be so many deaths and so many more diseases if it was not for the help of doctors and scientists. I think the only way that someone could possibly determine the importance of jobs is by the amount of impact the job has on society. If you work at a job that has no bearing on anyone in anyway, in what way could that job be important or significant? We do have the little jobs that most people think are not that important, but in a way, are very important. The jobs that have to be done, but not much people want to do. Nobody grows up and aspires to be a dishwasher...but it has to be done. If nobody washes the dishes, nobody eats, if nobody eats, nobody is happy. I guess you could say that in a way, being a dishwasher is an extremely important job for everyone. The salary of a job is no way to judge the importance of an occupation. There are so many jobs that have such a big impact on society, but do not have a big pay that comes with the job. Volunteer firefighters are a perfect example of this. These lifesavers have an incredible impact and are so important to society AND they do not get paid. One of the most important jobs for us and nobody pays them for it. They do this job and risk their lives just because they are good people. It is nice to know that there are still good people in society that are not too selfish. Teachers have jobs that do not make that good of an income, yet they still teach for the interest of the kids of tomorrow. They want to help kids learn and be successful. No matter the income, teachers go to school everyday and teach kids the material that they need to know to make it in the real world.

Love, Defined FROM VACATION

Whatever the definition of love is in the dictionary, it is probably wrong to most people. Love comes in all shapes and sizes and is usually whatever you make of it. I believe that each person should have their own definition of love. Each time a different person is asked what they think love is, it should be a completely different answer from the last person. Some people find love to be simple and say that they love a lot of people. The people that throw the word love around are frowned upon, but I think that they are just friendly and more willing to accept people. There are people who rarely ever tell someone that they love them. I do not want to call these types of people uptight because they are not. Love is a strong word to a lot of people and I do not think that it should be messed around with lightly. I would describe love as a feeling that you would get when you are with someone or in a certain place. I think I speak for a big amount of people when I say that a simple formula for what love is would not be satisfying. Love is something that makes life a lot better and should be essential for everyone. Without love in his or her life, a person will not be as happy as he or she can actually be. If love was easy to find, it really would not be worth finding. It can take person a large amount of years to find the true love that they have been longing for all of their life. Love may not always look the prettiest, but underneath the rough patches, it is there. Sometimes, it is the rough marks that make you know that it is actually love. A perfect loving couple will not be two people who never fight and are always mesmerized by one another. True love would be a couple that will be together for as long as possible and stick it out through the rough times and the bad fights. I do not think that someone should go around and search for love. I think those Eharmony and Match.com websites are pointless and dumb, but I guess they work for some people. Love is not something you find when you go looking for it. It is something that you will stumble across when you are not looking for it. It will catch you off guard and you will be damn happy that it caught you. I think that everyone is entitled to be in love. It is a feeling in life that each person should feel. I know that I am talking like I have found love and know everything about it, but that is not true, this is just my opinion of how I feel about the topic. Everyone deserves love, no matter the cruel things they have done. To actually live your life, you should experience love. You should not just make love, you should make love last.

Messy room blog

I found a way to do this blog while on vacation and I'll make last weeks blog when I come back on Wednesday. See you soon!

Risks

Over my years, I have liked to think of myself as a risk-taker. The risks taken have varied and come at different expenses. I think playing all the sports that I have played in my life are risks taken. Sports are known to be somewhat dangerous and I have played almost all of them. From wrestling, to soccer, to basketball, to baseball, to football. Football is the sport that I have continued to play all of my life up until this day. I have faced so many injuries over the course of time that I have played. From broken wrists to almost rupturing my spleen, I have loved it. I never thought of stopping because of the chance of a great injury. The love for the game interrupts that thought. There have been people who have died playing the game of football. There have also been people who have been affected for the rest of their lives due to the sport. I never think of football like that though, I am more optimistic. If I get injured then that's life, I knew the possible consequences and now I'd have to deal with them.
The people that take risks everyday do not get the credit that they deserve. They essentially risk their lives each day and nobody acknowledges them for it. I used to skateboard everyday for a good amount of years. Each trick I did was a risk. I would throw myself down sets of stairs hoping to land on a piece of wood on wheels. I rolled my ankles so many times that I lost count. I broke my thumb while trying to do a trick over a set of stairs. I fell so many times and felt more pain than some people probably feel in their whole lives. Some of the tricks I tried did not result in success or happiness. If you want to be any good at skateboarding, you have to be willing to take falls and get hurt. I was willing to get hurt. There was never a day when I skated and did not fall. If there is anyone that skateboards and lands every single trick, then they are just incredibly, amazingly good.
Personal risks are taken everyday by almost every person that lives. If someone musters up the confidence to confess his or her feelings to someone, then they are taking a great risk. If a person is being honest to his or her parents, believe it or not that is a risk. When I graduate and eventually go to college, that will be one of the greatest risks in my life. I will move out of my house and start college in a different town. It is kind of crazy to think about it, but to me it is a phenomenal risk. A lot of my friends and kids I know will be taking the same risk. The risk of moving away and attending college and actually staying in college. There are a lot of kids who never attempted this and stay in the same town. The select few that move away and attend a 4-year college are the ones who want to move on to bigger and better things.

State of the Union from my perspective

I have gathered you all here today to discuss the state of the union. I want to discuss how our country, as a whole, is running. There are a lot of people of are not satisfied with the current state of our country, but there are many people who are perfectly content. I will be the first one to say that we have a lot of work to do. We have made the first steps towards where we want to be as a country, but more strides need to be made and soon. We have been working very hard towards getting to where we want to be. It is only a matter of time before our economy is back on the rise and there are more jobs out there. The economy is what the country seems to want to fix the most, and they should want that, as do I. We need to distribute more jobs so that more people can be employed which would mean more people with more money to spend. The wealthy few and highest up people need to have higher taxes, not lower taxes than the middle-class and poor. I am not satisfied with where we are at. We need incentives for businesses to create more jobs. We have to stop outsourcing jobs and more buying needs to take place if we want to progress this economy. Our educational system is next on deck. We need teachers at schools that actually know the material we are teaching. There are too many teachers that get their tenure then feel the need to stop teaching. We need teachers who want to be there. Too many kids are going through life not learning what is essential to know to make it in the real world. There are too many kids that are not motivated to learn in school. They are too distracted from different things going on in their lives. We need to make a full commitment towards achieving the goal of everyone learning and graduating.
We also need to do a lot more work on conserving the environment. There are days where it is consistently 60 degrees in the winter. How is it winter when it is short sleeve weather everyday? This is a result from global warming. It is getting hotter and hotter each winter because of our failure to protect mother nature. There are many big-name car companies working towards making each car non-gas. We need to take care of the elderly more, as well. Once they retire, we need to make sure that they get what they are owed. How will they survive and keep living if we don't treat them the way they should be? We are making big strides towards ending all war that we are involved in. We have many troops home and more that are coming home. We just have a few more things to take care of then we will be home sweet and sound. I hope this lets you all know where we are at. Before you know it, we will be living well with little to no problems in our lives. Goodnight!

Memories

I always hear people talking about their childhood memories from a really long time ago like when they were very small. I try to think hard and remember something from when I was a little toddler, but I fail to think of anything. I do not know if I am the only one, but my memory is not too vivid of my early childhood. I remember a lot from when I was about 9 or 10, but from there back it is pretty blurry. The earliest memory I have from my early childhood is when my family and I went to Florida in 1998. I was only 5 years old when we went and I am surprised I can remember any of it. The memories are faint from what I remember because it was so long ago. The part of it I remember the most is when we went to Epcot. I remember being there at night and seeing the enormous golf ball that the place was inside of. I was wondering why it was a huge golf ball. I do not really remember anybody speaking to me, all I remember was my parents standing next to me. There might have been some fireworks, I am not too sure. When I look back on it, it is kind of like watching a silent movie of a night from back then. There is really no volume or anything I remember hearing. It is all visuals. I wish I could go into further detail about what I remember, but I am so limited to what I can describe. Within about 5 years, I have a tremendous memory of what has happened and what I have done. It is pretty weird that I have a really good memory for a little bit of time then once it gets to a certain age, I do not remember much at all. The Florida vacation is the most ancient memory I have. It would be cool to be able to remember life when I was a baby, but I doubt anyone can remember that far. Imagine if you could remember something from when you were first born. Although there is probably a body development reason to why we cannot remember that far back. No other memory relates to eachother either. I remember a lot of stuff from about 10 years old. Ten years old was definitely my childhood prime. I was the coolest kid in the neighborhood and the kids always wanted to hangout because I had a skateboard ramp. We would go on my trampoline or play videos or play football in the street. I remember the funniest moments with all of my friends from that age. I remember the injuries that I suffered and the sad times when I was running home to my mother crying. My childhood memories that I DO remember were definitely the best ones though. I am glad I remember the good stuff and not the bad stuff. It is great to sit around with friends from that era and laugh over the stupid and funny stuff we did.

Balance Of Nature

To be honest, I have never heard of the balance of nature once in my life. I started reading what you wrote for the blog and I was just at a loss. But after doing some research and exploring different websites from Google, I got sort of an idea of what the balance of nature truly means. I think all the components of nature could be in balance if we treated them the right way. A lot of people let it go straight over their heads, but the way we treat the earth is really getting out of hand. We might overuse water, even though there seems to be an endless supply of it. It is essential to live, if there was a water famine the world would go into a panic and people would be getting killed over bottles of water. It is crazy to think about, but it is true. I feel like it is less of a balance between all of them; it seems more that each component is essential to one another. Everything on this earth needs air in its life to survive for even a second. Animals, people, and plants need water to be able to stay alive and be healthy. I feel like I already went off about water, but I am just getting my point across that water is a necessity! Our land is what we live on and build on and grow plants on and without land, I do not even know. If there was no land, we would not be alive. That is my assumption. The plants are here on earth to provide food, not only to animals, but to humans as well. I must say that plants are a wonderful sight to look at, as well. Animals play such a huge role in society and the way the earth works, it is pretty crazy. We have become so used to animals being here that we forget how rare they actually are. Some species of animals are going extinct and the world as a whole is taking them for granted. We need to do more to preserve animals and their habitats. I do not believe that our nature system is in balance, at all. The way we treat all aspects of nature is killing everything. Mother nature is slowly deteriorating. The amount of pollution everyday from all over the world is unbelievable. People have been making great strides to stop the pollution, do not get me wrong, but it is inevitable. Human beings have been swaying the balance in the wrong direction. The whole population of human beings across the world take everything they have for granted. Sooner or later, nature is going to go from "alright" to "bad". When this occurs, there will be a worldwide panic. We keep thinking that the world will suffer after we die and so on. We don't realize that the way we treat nature and the earth is critically bad. It needs to stop.

This is a hard one for me. There are so many different time periods that I would like to visit if I could go back in time. But if I had to choose any time that I could go back to...it would definitely have to be the decade of 1920. The roaring 20's represented so much change in America. Everything and everyone was evolving. The women were so independent and had a say in society. The music was funky and rebellious and no one cared what it meant. Also known as the Jazz age, was such an exciting time for anyone who lived in the United States. There were so many gangsters and crime going on, but I like to believe that all that made this decade even more exciting to be in. Baseball really evolved and became the most popular sport in the decade. Babe Ruth was the king of the sport, constantly hitting home runs. The Ku Klux Klan paved way for itself and people accepted it, which is not a good thing, but definitely made the times exciting to live in. Jack Dempsey was the best boxer at the time. Most women became known as flappers, the flapper redefined modern womanhood. The end of the decade was the worst though, which really puts a damper on the all of the highlights coming from the decade. Night clubs became extremely popular, musical performances happened here and a lot of dancing.
I would love to visit this time period because I feel like I would fit right in. It seemed like this was the time period where everyone went to the city and just wanted to find a good time. There were good music, good ladies, and good times. The women were rebellious and scandalous. It definitely sounds like the most exciting time to live in. The style was so elegant in the 20's, everyone dressed proper and formal. All the girls and guys dressed to impress whenever they went out to the club. There would be an endless amount of things I could do while I would be in the 1920's. I would go out in the city and hit up every night club with a group of friends and some lovely ladies. We would drink some good drinks at the club over some good music by a nice Jazz band. We would go out to different stores and buy stylish clothes that we could wear out every night after. I would just want to walk around the city and enjoy everything going on around me. The atmosphere back then was so alive and real. Everyone wanted to have fun and enjoy life while they were still alive. I would talk to as many people as I could and find out what they were feeling about everything going on in the world. I would learn how to play an instrument and start up a jazz band. Music was one of the most popular ways to express yourself and I would have absolutely loved to express my emotions through music to a crowd of people.
