In a relationship with my phone

I protect it like it has been my girlfriend for years. I bring it everywhere I go and I sleep right next to it. If I lose track of it; I will probably flip out on everyone and go crazy. I am talking about my Blackberry. My phone is probably my most prized possession. Some people say that they could live without their phone, but lets be real now. Can anyone really live without their cellular device?
I am definitely one of those people who are obsessed with their phone. It may sound bad, but it is not as bad as people think it might be. I rely on my Blackberry for communications with friends and family. I use it for the internet, to wake up me up for school, and for emergencies. Spending just a day without my phone would probably drive me insane. Whenever I am out and my phone dies, it is pretty much equivalent to a person dying. I can't say that I spend a lot of time actually talking on the phone, but I am on it all day. When you see me with my phone out, I am either text messaging, tweeting, on Facebook, or just scrolling through my Blackberry. I would say a few hours a day is an understatement for how much time I spend on it. When I am faced with boredom, which happens quite often, I pull my phone out and just go everywhere on it. I have never really though about life without a cell phone. Just thinking about it and how much the world would be different is insane. The way society is today would be completely altered. The way people act in general would be so much different than how they are today. Individuals rely on their mobile devices to get them through their lives. If they do not have a cell phone, they cannot function how they normally would. If someone gets seriously injured, how do the police or ambulance get called? As much as some deny it, cell phones are the foundation to which we live upon.
If the phone network collapsed for six months, I am certain people would go crazy. As delusional as it sounds, I would guess that there would be at least 5 deaths resulting from the network collapsing. It would be close to equivalent to if the stock markets crashed and a great depression occurred all over again! I would be so lost without my Blackberry. My heart would be broken over the tragedy...Well not really, but you know what I mean. I am sure everyone else around this country would feel my pain as well. It sounds like my phone is my girlfriend, but it is not what it looks like! It is funny because as I am typing this blog about my cell phone; I am switching between typing this and going to my phone to text my friends. As weird as it sounds, I guess you could say I have a pretty passionate relationship with my Blackberry.
